Its name provides ample clues to the physical appearance of the red-faced malkoha. Most of the face of the red-faced malkoha takes on the colour red while the body is dark brown. The IUCN has classified this bird as vulnerable and the reasons for this include deforestation and loss of habitat. The family of the red-faced malkoha is Cuculidae and its scientific name is Phaenicophaeus pyrrhocephalus. Belonging to the type of cuckoo birds, the red-faced malkoha has a large bill and its lifespan is still not confirmed. The size of the bird is 46 cm in length and its diet is omnivorous.
